PHLUSH C0-Founders Barb Lescher and Carol McCreary crawled off their Delta/Northwest flight in Singapore after nearly 24 hours of travel. The trip was uneventful and our transit time in Tokyo only 30 minutes. That was just enough time to check out Narita’s restrooms. In addition to very nice facilities for kids and babies, there is choice of TOTO toilets: regular and bottom-washing, We liked the sign.
At the airport travel desk we got a really great deal on a tiny hotel in Little India near the Suntec Center, where the World Toilet Summit convenes this evening with a reception for speakers.
Coming into town from the airport at 2 am, Singapore was in full swing. People sitting out in the tropical night feasting on all manner of Asian food. We slept off the trip, getting up at 10 to find shops still shuttered. But soon enough we the streets were packed. At the 7-Eleven – actually a 200 sq ft stall – we got SIM cards for the cell phones which Christopher Yarrow lent us for the trip. This way we can hang out with other delegates at the conference and explore the Expo without losing each other.
